Filming For The Dark Knight Rises To Bring An Explosion To Pittsburgh!

Examiner.com has published a story that focuses on one of the main reason why Christopher Nolan chose to use Pittsburgh as his primary filming location. An arena, named Civic Arena, is said to possibly being used for a key scene in the movie that uses an explosion.
The ability to explode the Civic Arena and use the footage for a key scene in the movie may have been the key bargaining chip that brought The Dark Knight Rises to Pittsburgh.

First Images Of The Cast Of Batman Live Finally Revealed!

You thought that the costumes in Joel Schumacher's Batman & Robin looked cheesy? Well, the following pictures of Batman, Robin, The Joker, Catwoman, Poison Ivy and more, might just make you think otherwise...

Faithfully adapted from the DC Comics characters and stories, BATMAN LIVE focuses on Robin's quest for justice, which leads him to follow in the footsteps of his hero, the mysterious vigilante known as the Batman - much to the dismay of his protective guardian, millionaire Bruce Wayne - who secretly happens to be Batman.

A dazzling celebration of storytelling and stagecraft, BATMAN LIVE is at its heart an affecting coming of age story. Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson - both orphaned at an early age - must first learn to overcome their own fears and forge their own family - along with Police Commissioner James Gordon and Bruce's trusted butler, Alfred Pennyworth - if they're going to survive the combined forces of Batman's larger-than-life rogues gallery: The Joker, The Penguin, Catwoman, The Riddler, Two-Face, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy.

'Social Network' Actor Lands Role in 'Dark Knight Rises' (Exclusive)

Josh Pence will have a key part in a flashback sequence in Christopher Nolan's new Batman film.

Josh Pence, who played opposite Armie Hammer as Tyler Winklevoss in The Social Network (where Hammer's face was superimposed on his), has been cast as a young Ra's Al Ghul in Dark Knight Rises, Christopher Nolan's new Batman movie.

The movie's casting has been ultra-secret, although Christian Bale, Gary Oldman and Morgan Freeman are returning to lead a caped crusading cast, which includes Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotillard.

The story line has also been kept locked up in the Batcave but Pence's casting throws more than a few crumbs to follow. Ra's Al Ghul was played by Liam Neeson in Batman Begins, thus paving the way for a possible return of the supposedly dead character. Also, while the studio never confirmed Cotillard's character, it has been rumored to be that of Thalia Al Ghul, the daughter of Batman's mentor-turned-enemy.

Sources say Pence will appear in scenes that take place 30 years prior to the present story.

Pence, repped by Innovative Artists and Industry Entertainment, recently wrapped Battleship, Universal's big-budget action movie based on the board game, and indie political thriller The Algerian.

BATMAN XXX: A PORN PARODY

Do you like Batman? Do you like porn? Well golly gee whiz Batman, have we got the movie trailer for you!

**Slightly NSFW Alert**

After successes with This Ain't Happy Days XXX and This Ain't Beverly Hills 90210 XXX, porn director Axel Braun has turned his attention to DC Comics' caped crusader. Batman XXX: A Porn Parody is his most recent film, with accompanying trailer here, set to light the world of lonely costumed men on fire.
Batman XXX reportedly spared no expense in spoofing the 1960s Batman television show starring Adam West and Burt Ward, which was likely a mistake since most people are only going to download it for free anyway. It features Batman and Robin getting their bone on, along with Batgirl, the Ridder, Catwoman, and the Joker. Being the nerd that I am, I caught a phaser from Star Trek in there, which I'm planning to write a nasty letter about. And who knew Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson played four-level chess while not being fluffed?

If it weren't for the guy with the junk at the beginning of the trailer, I almost wouldn't have a clue that this was the trailer for a porn movie. That and the fact that, I'm no director, but it seems cut together awfully. Maybe these are the only available scenes where someone isn't inserting a phallus into an orifice or sphincter. I will say, the part with the man staring at the red phone really has me wondering if it ever rings or not. I hope so, and then I hope someone gets f****d.

The Batmobile sections are pretty damn faithful, as are the costume designs (reportedly worked on by designers from the original show), so I'm nearly flabbergasted that someone can get away with a parody this close to the original material. It's surprising that DC hasn't raised a stink at all, though it probably would have by now if it had any right. The masters of porn seem to know pretty well what they can get away with, and Batman XXX appears to be the ultimate example of that. Look for its DVD release on May 24, if you're over 18, or have a fake ID or use the internet.

Third Batman to film in Pittsburgh

Third Batman to film in Pittsburgh
(UKPA)
The latest Batman movie will be filmed this summer in Pittsburgh, it has been announced.

Director Christopher Nolan, who has helmed the two previous Batman films - starring Christian Bale as caped crime fighter and his alter ego, Bruce Wayne - said the Pennsylvania city will host filming for a third film for at least a month.

"Pittsburgh is a beautiful city. We have been able to find everything we were looking for here and I am excited to spend the summer in Pittsburgh with our final installment of Batman," he said in a statement, adding that he finally settled on the city because of its architecture and diverse sampling of locations.

Mayor Luke Ravensthahl said the decision was "another example of the growing film industry in our community and we will be rolling out the red carpet for them."

The city is no stranger to film productions, having been the location for more than 100 film and television products since 1990, including I Am Number Four and Kevin Smith's Zack&Miri Make A Porno.

The film, The Dark Knight Rises, is scheduled to be released in July 2012, and stars Christopher Bale, Gary Oldman, and Anne Hathaway as Catwoman.

The previous two films include Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.

Biggest movie story of 2008: Heath Ledger

by Rebecca Ford, LA Film Examiner

Australian actor Heath Ledger surpassed all other movie stories for 2008, according to a poll conducted by Moviefone.com.

The poll, which accumulated 3.5 million votes, found that Ledger swept the awards as Best Villain, most missed star and biggest news story, due in part to the release of “"The Dark Knight",” released six months after his death.

Ledger edged out Paul Newman for the star who will be most missed in the poll, 56 to 20 percent of votes. Ledger died nearly a year ago on January 22, 2008 of an accidental overdose in New York. He was 28.

Clearly, the awards coming up this month will also reflect the admiration for “The Dark Knight,” which was 2008’s biggest grossing movie. Ledger has won Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild nominations for his role of the Joker in “The Dark Knight.”

“The Dark Knight” also won Best Action Movie and "movie most worth your cash" in the Moviefone poll.

Twilight” won as Best Chick Flick, and star actor Robert Pattinson won breakout star of the year.
